Privacy Policy
Cold Ink Casefiles (“we”, “us”) operates coldinkcasefiles.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain because that is how we write everything.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you request the free mini-mystery or subscribe to our list.
- Order information, when you buy from our store: your name, email, billing country, and what you bought. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card number goes to Stripe, never to us.
- Basic analytics: pages visited, device type, and referral source, collected through Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner. This is aggregate and not used to identify you personally.
- Anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
How we use it
- To deliver your downloads and order confirmations.
- To send you the free case file and, if you stay subscribed, occasional emails about new cases. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand which pages and offers work, so we can improve the site.
- To answer your questions.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and your data passes through them only to deliver what you asked for:
- Stripe processes payments on our checkout.
- Systeme.io stores our email list and sends our emails.
- Google Analytics provides aggregate site statistics, only with your consent.
- Hostinger hosts the website.
If you buy one of our kits on Etsy, that purchase is governed by Etsy’s own privacy policy, and we receive only what Etsy shares with sellers to deliver your order.
Cookies
Two kinds, and you control the second:
- Essential cookies keep the store working: your cart, your checkout session, and your cookie choice itself. These are always on because the shop cannot function without them.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) run only if you click Accept in the cookie banner. Decline and we measure nothing; the site works exactly the same.
Change your mind any time with the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or clear cookies in your browser.
Your rights
We follow Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA), and we extend the same courtesies to everyone, including visitors covered by the EU and UK GDPR:
- Access or correct what we hold about you: email us and we will show you.
- Delete your data: email us and we will remove you from our list and records. We keep order records only as long as Canadian tax law requires.
- Unsubscribe any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
- Complain to your local privacy regulator if you think we got something wrong. We would rather you email us first so we can fix it.
Children
Our games are for ages 16 and up. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
